Bruno Fernandes drawn to Manchester United move after identical wage offer from Tottenham

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly attracted to the ‘history and mystique’ of Manchester United after the Red Devils made an offer to the player’s agent. United have been heavily linked with a transfer move for the Sporting Lisbon star, who is also wanted by Tottenham as a replacement for wantaway midfielder Christian Eriksen. Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claim Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho has returned from meeting United and Tottenham representatives in London, with both clubs making offers to sign the 24-year-old. Sporting want £62million for Fernandes, but neither United or Spurs have met that asking price.

The Premier League duo have, however, offered identical personal terms to Fernandes. Should Fernandes have to chose between the two clubs, the Portugal international is drawn to the history and mystique of playing at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Fernandes as the perfect option to rejuvenate his team and wants the prolific goalscorer to be one of his five major signings this summer.

United have already confirmed the arrival of Swansea midfielder Daniel James and hope to announce the signing of Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the coming days. Solskjaer wants his transfer business completed by the time his players return to preseason at the start of July.
