The Bulgarian Air Force (BuAF) has begun sending its Su-25 attack aircraft for overhaul to Belarus’s 558th Aircraft Repair Plant (558 ARZ). The first aircraft was airlifted by Il-76 transport to Baranovichi in Belarus in a partially disassembled state on 28 August.

The framework agreement between the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence and 558 ARZ, inked on 28 November 2018, is worth BGN82.5 million (USD48 million). Six Su-25K single-seat and two Su-25UBK twin-seat aircraft will receive an overhaul, life extension, and minor avionics and weapon upgrades.
