West Ham beats Liverpool to rise to Premier League podium

West Ham showed on Sunday why they are being the sensation team in the Premier League, beating Liverpool 3-2. The result allows the London team to climb to third place, precisely in exchange with Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The home team took the lead thanks to an own goal by Alisson at 4m, in a move in which the Liverpool players were asking for a foul on the Brazilian goalkeeper. Trent Alexander-Arnold equalized at 41m on a perfect free-kick, but in the second half, West Ham confirmed the victory, ending the Reds’ unbeaten record in the championship.

Fornals made it 2-1 in the 67m and Zouma scored the 3-1 in the 74m. Origi, who replaced the Portuguese Diogo Jota at 76m, even reduced Liverpool’s disadvantage to 83m, but the three points stayed in London.

With this result, West Ham now has the same 23 points as Manchester City, one more than Liverpool, and three less than leaders Chelsea.
