Citrix will become a Google Cloud workspace services partner.

One of the announcements of Next’21, the event that Google Cloud developed between 12 and 14 October, was the alliance it established with Citrix, through which this supplier becomes its preferred partner and virtual desktop services within the work environment as a service strategy (DaaS).

Under this global agreement, Citrix will launch a DaaS offering on Google Cloud, as Google Cloud becomes the preferred and strategic cloud partner for the virtualization vendor.

Thus, Citrix recognized that from now on it will build a foundation of its cloud services on the Google Cloud, starting with a management plan specially designed to allow cloud-hosted desktops to stream any application on any device.

“This partnership will leverage the Google Cloud services and backbone, utilizing advanced software-defined edge caching and networking services to deliver the fastest and most consistent experience, transactional simplicity, and high-performance DaaS,” said Vishal Ganeriwala , vice president of product marketing at Citrix.

Furthermore, according to Ganeriwala, the management plan will be available for preview in the coming months. “Cloud migrations can be a bit bumpy, but Citrix and Google are working to give you a smooth path to success with new enabling features and technical capabilities.

Citrix also supports expanding the capabilities of its Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service in the Google Cloud, including Customer-Managed Encryption Keys (CMEK), application layer support, and shielded virtual machine support, among others.
