The Swiss company that built the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline between Russia and Germany has filed for bankruptcy, AFP advances, after tough US sanctions and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the suspension of the project.
Nord Stream 2 AG, a Swiss-based company owned by Russia’s Gazprom, had completed the project last year, a project that cost around €10 billion and aimed to double the transport of natural gas across the Baltic Sea.
