Biden again says Putin is a war criminal after images of Bucha

Joe Biden, the US President, held a brief press conference on Monday afternoon, in which he was asked about the horrific images that are being circulated of the city of Bucha, northwest of Kyiv.

The US President began by saying: “You must remember that I was criticized for designating Putin as a war criminal. Well, the truth is that everyone saw what happened in Bucha, and that justifies my words. He is a war criminal.”

“We have to gather the information, we have to continue to provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs to continue the fight, and we have to get all the details so that it can have a war crimes trial,” the President continued, stressing that Putin “must be held accountable”.

Asked about the United States’ response to these recent events, he added: “I seek to enforce even more sanctions.”
