British writer Salman Rushdie attacked in New York

Writer Salman Rushdie was attacked on stage at an event he was attending in New York. Images circulate on social media showing the author lying on the ground after the attack. The man who attacked him, apparently with a knife, was stopped by the people present at the event. For now there is no information about the state of health of the writer. According to information that has not been officially confirmed, Rushdie was attacked in the neck and taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Salman Rushdie is the author of works such as “Grimus”, in 1975 or “Midnight’s Children” — which won him the Booker Prize, in 1981.
