Donald Trump considering launching fresh White House bid after midterm elections

Former US president Donald Trump is considering launching his third bid for the White House in November.

Former United States President Donald Trump may launch a third bid for the White House in November, as per reports. He is considering running for the Tuesday midterm polls and has been reaching out to confidantes to chalk out ways to benefit from Republican wins, as per Trump advisers.

“I think like a moth to a flame, Trump will run in 2024,” one senior adviser told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity. “I think that he wants to run and announcing before Thanksgiving gives him a great advantage over his opponents and he understands that.”

The advisers said that an announcement is due in the following weeks and it could also exclude potential rivals for the party’s nominations. Though the decision could be delayed, the advisers said.

Another Trump associate told Reuters that he aimed at declaring his objections in his re-election campaign after Tuesday.

It may be noted that independent candidate forecasters and polls showed that it was highly likely that Republicans will secure a majority in the US House of Representatives and may take control of the Senate. Taking control of the Senate will authorise the Republicans to block President Joe Biden’s agenda in the coming two years.
