Former President Donald Trump described the situation in Russia as a “big mess” after insurgent leader Yevgeny Prigozhin redirected his Wagner paramilitary forces away from Moscow.

Trump warned to be cautious about the unfolding events, suggesting that things could potentially worsen.

In a separate post, he baselessly accused President Joe Biden and his son Hunter of illegal financial dealings with China and insinuated that Biden would act according to China’s wishes regarding Russia.

Trump further speculated that the crisis presented an opportunity for China to seize parts of Russia. Republican candidates in the 2024 presidential race also commented on the Wagner crisis.

Vivek Ramaswamy claimed that the events showed Russia’s limited capabilities, emphasizing the need to focus on deterring Chinese aggression.

Will Hurd called for the implementation of a no-fly zone in Ukraine to protect against potential civil war in Russia. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez urged people to pray for the freedom-loving people of Russia during this critical time.

President Biden and top officials were briefed on the situation and affirmed their support for Ukraine in calls with leaders such as UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
