The war in Ukraine has had a devastating impact on Russia’s economy, and the oligarchs who have benefited from Putin’s rule are starting to feel the heat. Some analysts believe that the oligarchs may be preparing to overthrow Putin in a coup, with the help of the military and the secret services.

There are a number of reasons why the oligarchs might be considering a coup. First, the war in Ukraine has caused a sharp decline in the value of the ruble, which has made it difficult for the oligarchs to maintain their lavish lifestyles. Second, the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West have frozen the assets of many of the oligarchs, making it difficult for them to do business. Third, the war has tarnished Russia’s image on the world stage, making it more difficult for the oligarchs to operate internationally.

The oligarchs have a number of assets that they could use to launch a coup. They control a significant amount of wealth, and they have access to the military and secret services. However, there are also a number of challenges that the oligarchs would face in staging a coup. First, they would need to overcome Putin’s control of the security forces. Second, they would need to unite the different factions of the oligarchs behind a common cause. Third, they would need to find a way to overthrow Putin without sparking a civil war.

It is too early to say whether the oligarchs will try to overthrow Putin. However, the war in Ukraine has created a number of conditions that could make a coup more likely. The oligarchs are feeling the economic pain of the war, and they are facing increasing pressure from the West. If Putin continues to lead Russia down a dangerous path, the oligarchs may have no choice but to try to remove him from power.

In addition to the oligarchs, there are other groups within Russia who may be looking to overthrow Putin. These include the military, the Secret Service, and the middle class. The military is unhappy with the way that Putin has handled the war in Ukraine, and the secret services are concerned about the growing power of the oligarchs. The middle class is also starting to speak out against Putin, as they are feeling the economic effects of the war.

It is possible that these groups could come together to form a united front against Putin. However, it is also possible that they will remain divided and unable to overthrow him. Only time will tell what will happen in Russia, but the war in Ukraine has certainly created a power vacuum that could be filled by a new leader.
