Boeing is pitching its F-15EX Eagle II to Poland at the MSPO 2023 defense exhibition in Kielce. The company is offering the aircraft as a potential Foreign Military Sales (FMS) buy for the Polish Air Force.
The F-15EX is the latest and most advanced version of the F-15 Eagle, a long-serving fighter jet that has been in service with the US Air Force since the 1970s. The Eagle II features a number of improvements over previous models, including a new radar, electronic warfare suite, and weapons systems.
Boeing is touting the F-15EX’s superior interoperability, supportability, and affordability as key selling points for the Polish Air Force. The company also says that the aircraft would be a “natural fit” for Poland’s NATO allies.
The Polish Air Force is currently looking to replace its fleet of MiG-29 and Su-22 fighters. The F-15EX is one of several aircraft that the country is considering, including the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II and the Eurofighter Typhoon.
A decision on the Polish Air Force’s new fighter jet is expected to be made in the coming years.
Here are some of the key features of the F-15EX:
- A new AESA radar with a wider field of view and improved capabilities against air and ground targets.
- An upgraded electronic warfare suite with the ability to jam enemy radars and communications.
- A new weapons system that can carry a wider range of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons.
- A longer range and greater endurance than previous models.
- The ability to operate in contested airspace.
The F-15EX is still in the early stages of production, but it is expected to be a valuable asset to the Polish Air Force for many years to come.
